Haleakala Enfused

Haleakala was one of the more challenging shots I've had to take. No, the mountain doesn't move, but there's 50 MPH of wind blowing up at you from the crater floor. It's gotta be below freezing with the wind chill. So I set my camera on auto exposure bracketing, and remote shutter release. I put the remote in my pocket and started shooting like crazy. Unfortunately, I never got a bright enough exposure for the crater; there's a HUGE difference between the sky, the sun, and the crater below. But IMO, this is still a pretty breathtaking image, and very close to what how my eyes saw it that day. Next time, I bring gloves, and I bracket out in 4 stop increments.
